The FGD discussed issue on the extent of increasing rice price reached 30 percent in February 2015. The prices of low and medium qualities of rice achieved at Rp 10,000 per kilogram in the same month. There are some divergences related to this phenomenon, among others, because of rice mafia who troubling the price and due to declining rice stock possibly. However, another opinion addressed that actually there is no rice mafia since hoard up the rice is risky except for normal stock. According to the data of BPS, there were significant increasing rice price (more than 10%) in several major cities such as Manado, Kudus, Bandung, and Banyuwangi. In Central Rice Market of Cipinang (PIBC), in particular, the extent of increasing rice price achieved at about 21 percent for rice variety of Muncul. The extent of increasing rice prices in 82 cities were averagely less than three percent. Thus, the average extent of increasing rice price differs from those general situations as reported by mass media which reached about 30 percent.
